About

We are an international collective of students, researchers and community members (currently from Ecuador, Mexico and the United States) dedicated to documenting, contextualizing and digitally preserving the traces of feminist social movements in the Americas.

In 2022 we are focusing on the feminist movement in Ecuador, involving local struggles of feminists, activists, indigenous groups in Cuenca.
From 2020 to 2021 we were preserving materials from the feminist movement in Toluca, mainly the student movement at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico.

We explored issues related to the collection and visualization of this material, including privacy, temporality, copyright, and community association, through specific case studies selected for their location.

We seek to engage with activists and participants to develop skills to document these ephemeral interventions with the goal of creating a digital community repository in the Americas.

The project team is committed to non-hierarchical teaching and learning, as well as collaboration through digital projects that cross disciplinary and geographic boundaries.

We are always looking to document feminist activism in other Latin American cities. If you are interested in preserving the uncomfortable footprints in your city, do not hesitate to contribute an item or contact us.
